CPD Fireworks Reminder

Fireworks Regulations

As we get closer to the 4th of July, the Carlisle Police Department would like to remind our community of the following guidelines:

Our fireworks ordinance only permit the discharging of consumer grade fireworks from 12 o’clock noon until 11:00 p.m. on July 1st- July 4th and are not permitted any time on public property such as street, sidewalks, parks, trails or on private property where permission has not been expressly given by the property owner. The use of fireworks outside the approved dates and times or in prohibited places is a violation of the city’s ordinances. If a violation occurs, individuals are subject to a $100.00 fine, plus associated court cost per violation.

It’s important to note and understand that the Carlisle Police Department will be far less lenient for violations this year than in years past. Last year, we received a significant number of complaints in which violations occurred outside the permitted time frame. Just as much as we want our citizens to enjoy fireworks responsibly, we equally want to respect those in our community with mental health related issues, pet owners and individuals, who work during the holiday weekend.

It is the desire of Carlisle Police Department for our community to enjoy and celebrate our nation’s independence, while also being respectful of fellow community members and following all fireworks regulations that are in place.
