Carlisle Fire Department

Carlisle Fire Department was founded in 1938, and made up of volunteers within the community. Sometime in the 1970's the department added Emergency Medical Services. In 2013, the department added part time firefighters to the staff alongside with the volunteers to assist with the rapid increase in the EMS call volume. In 2018, the first full time Fire Chief was hired, and in December of 2020 the department hired its first 3 full time firefighters/medics, with an additional firefighter in July 2022.

The Carlisle Fire Department is currently is made up of 5 full-time personnel and 15 part-time/paid-on-call personnel.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality medical and fire services in a caring and professional manner. The department is a combined department of full-time, part-time, and paid-on-call personnel that run 24/7 coverage. As the City of Carlisle continues to grow, the fire department mainly operates with full-time staff during the day and full-time/part-time/paid-on-call during the over nights. The EMS department operates at the paramedic level, providing the community with advanced life support medical care.

The department works to be proactive in the community by: inspecting and installing smoke detectors, offering fire safety classes, teaching First Aid and CPR classes in conjunction with AHA standards, working with elementary students, and attending most community events.

Through our response efforts our personnel stand ready to respond. We expect our work to make a difference in the quality of life of the residents in our city. To this end, we try to discover what is most important and focus our resources for the greatest, most enduring benefit.

Our staff is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of medical and fire services, whatever the opportunity. The citizens in which we serve, have our commitment that we will do whatever we can to provide services that exceed expectations.
